A large fraction of patients presenting to health care providers in the United States have limited English proficiency or challenges with health literacy. Disparities in care and health persist in these populations that impact patient safety. However, a coordinated strategy has not been developed to address the needs of these patients. A critical re-evaluation of the research and delivery system priorities should be considered. |
