Topic: Politicization of Scientific Data About Global Warming
Presenter: Gayle Simon, San Diego State University
Location: SDSU Foundation: Sky Park
Discussion:
Scientific evidence clearly demonstrates that human activity is warming the Earth's climate. However, U.S. federal policy makers suggest that scientists disagree on this topic. For this Journal Club, we will focus on the U.S. government's presentation of scientific information about global warming that has caused a climate of confusion, doubt, and uncertainty among the American public about this issue. The discussion will focus on climate change, however, examples from other topic areas will be included.
