This discussion will focus on the ethical implications of conducting research that includes genetic testing with a specific focus on the informed consent process. The informed consent process for genetic research presents many unique ethical challenges to the individual since there are a variety of risks other than physical risk that an individual must consider before agreeing to participate. These risks will be discussed in relation to how individuals decide whether or not to participate in genetic research. |
