Case for Discussion You ask a fellow graduate student and her husband, whom you ran into in the hall, to donate 10 cc of blood each for one of your established protocols. While enumerating the T cell subsets, you find very low values in the husband. This is worrisome as AIDS can cause such low values. Do you tell him? Do you tell his wife? You ask your mentor what should be done. She says she will take care of the situation. Two days later you see the husband in your mentor's office and she later informs you that he was told.
